The Aroma of Love...

When thinking of Valentine's Day, the ONE aromatic flower that comes to mind is Rose and for good reason. Roses evoke the goddess of love, Aphrodite and the goddess of beauty, Venus. The rose is connected to feelings of love, romance and decadence. Rose oil is also a sweet oil to work with when wanting to open the heart, honor the divine feminine, when facing stressful situations and challenges and when we want to feel deeply supported. Rose essential oil loves the skin, which is why it is so popular is face and body care and can be dabbed onto the skin as a quick perfume.

It takes nearly 50 rose petals to equal just 1 drop of this extremely precious essential oil! When adding this oil to massage blends or botanical perfumes, the less is more approach is the best way to go with this beautiful oil. Since this is a highly prized oil, it is also more expensive. Below are some incredible essential oils to work with if wanting to connect more to your body and your heart.

Ylang Ylang is one oil that I like to work with when making any blend that requires a gentle sweetness and that is energetically soothing and uplifting for the heart. The aroma is sweet, floral and slightly overpowering. One drop of Ylang Ylang is plenty. Any blend created for self love could benefit from this euphoric floral.

Geranium has a sweet, uplifting aroma and is sometimes co-distilled with rose essential oil to create a rose geranium blend. Geranium is a great alternative to rose essential oil and instills a feeling of wanting to experience all the excitement and pleasure life has to offer.

Patchouli is a wonderful essential oil to use for those who are feeling a disconnect from their physical body and desires. The aroma of patchouli may be helpful for anxiety and to feel more grounded and supported too. Patchouli blends well with other more floral oils. This oil is more viscous and not meant to be diffused.
